Nazarenes

Nazarenes are a somewhat "typical" protestant church, in the sense that they dont have any beliefs or practices that stand out or cause controversy among the majority of the Christian community. They believe that the mission of the church is to spread the gospel of Christ to others in the world, ministering to their needs and questions. They define the church as both local and as universal congregations, a group of unified believers who worship together. They believe in a sunday Sabbath, that baptism is done by the method desired by the baptisee, that the state of the dead is sleep until the second coming of Christ, and that Hell is eternal.

They accept the Old and New Testaments as the inspired word of God, the cannonized 66 books, with no additions or subtractions. For Sin, they believe that there are two forms of sin, one is called original sin, the other is actual sin. Original sin is the state of being that a person is in before the acceptance of the gospel of Christ and baptism by the Holy Spirit. It is termed as being inclined to evil and being against God, having a natural aversion to the word and work of God. Original sin differs from actual sin in that original sin is simply a state of being that makes a person more apt to actual sin, for which no one is held accountable until the divinely provided remedy is either rejected or neglected. It is cleansed at baptism, and the person is created new in the sense that they are no longer under that curtain of iniquity, but now are justified by the blood of Christ. Actual sin is sin that is done either before or after being justified by baptism of the spirit, and is sin as it is commonly thought of, that being an actual decided choice, a purposed action to transgress the law of God, after which repentance must be given in the form of earnest prayer.

They believe that actual sin is different from making a mistake or unknowingly breaking the law, but that man has a fallen nature and thus will always fall into actual sin at one point or another after being freed from original sin, until the second coming of Christ. They believe that actual sin is not to be confused with mistakes, shortcomings, or personal flaws that are a result of the nature of original sin that they held before becoming morally responsible. They believe in the Trinity concept of God, that being a triune of three beings, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, a division into three parts of one actual God, and that the law is in effect; as such people will be judged according to their deeds at the resurrection day.
